How to Choose the Right LED Display Pixel Pitch

DATE: Oct, 09, 2026

Choosing the right LED display pixel pitch is essential for getting the best image quality and value from your LED screen. But how do you know which pitch is right for your project?

The first factor to consider is viewing distance. As a general rule, a smaller pixel pitch is better for close-up viewing, while a larger pitch works well when viewers are farther away. For example, P1.5–P2.5 is often suitable for conference rooms, retail spaces, and other indoor applications, while P3–P6 is commonly used for events and outdoor advertising. P6+ is ideal for large outdoor billboards, building facades, stadium displays, and other applications where viewers are typically farther away.

Your screen size, content, installation environment, and budget also matter. If the display will show detailed graphics, presentations, or camera footage, a fine-pitch LED display may be the better choice.

When considering LED screen pixel pitch, don't simply choose the smallest option available. The best approach to how to choose LED display is to match the pixel pitch to the actual viewing conditions and project requirements.
